This is not one size fits all
For many patients, wrinkle relaxer results last about 3 to 4 months. That’s a typical range; individual experience can vary on either side, and a single number isn’t going to fit every situation or every treatment area.
Wrinkle relaxers — including Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify, Jeuveau, and Letybo — work by temporarily reducing the muscle activity that causes movement-related lines. As that effect gradually wears off, expression lines start to return. The pace at which that happens depends on several factors that are worth understanding before your first appointment, and worth revisiting after your first round.
What can affect how long it lasts
A few factors most often influence how long results may last:
Dose. Appropriate dosing for the specific muscle being treated affects how long the effect persists. Underdosing can mean a shorter result; that is why each patient receives a tailored treatment plan.
Treatment area. Areas with stronger muscle activity — such as the masseters or the frown lines between the brows — sometimes metabolize the product sooner than less active areas.
Individual metabolism. Some patients break down the product faster than others. This isn’t something you can train; it’s part of your individual chemistry.
Treatment history. Patients who have been treated consistently over time often describe results that hold a bit longer than the first round. Not every patient experiences this, but it’s a common pattern.
Being on a regular schedule with your treatments help maintain results more effectively over time.
Why patients come in earlier — or later — than the average
Some patients book their next appointment around the 3-month mark. Others wait until they notice movement lines coming back. Both approaches can be reasonable depending on your treatment goals.
Coming in too early can lead to overtreatment, which isn’t desirable from an aesthetic or medical standpoint. Waiting until lines have fully returned can mean a slightly slower path back to your previous result during the first few weeks of the next round. Your provider can help you find a timing that fits.
Maintaining your results over time
Patients who treat consistently over time often describe results that look easier to maintain. The reason is straightforward: when expression lines aren’t allowed to fully re-etch between treatments, the muscle is also relearning a quieter pattern. That isn’t something every patient experiences in the same way, but it’s a common pattern.
For patients who plan to come in regularly, our membership program offers special pricing on neurotoxin treatments and on related care.
